Tomato Vegetable Soup with Herbs de Provence
Ingredients for 4 servings
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 Potato
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 sticks celery
  • 1 onion
  • 2 shallot
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon Herbs de Provence 
  • salt and black pepper for seasoning
Preparation
  • Rinse and cut the tomatoes into quarters, peel the potato and cut into quarters, peel onion and shallot then chop into small pieces, rinse carrot and celery sticks then cut into small pieces.
  • Heat olive oil in a soup pot, fry onion and shallot briefly, then add tomatoes, potatoes, carrots and celery. Fry all the ingredients briefly and pour in water.
  • Bring the soup to boil, follow with tomato paste, ketchup and mixed herbs, turn to low heat and simmer for 1 hour. To serve, season with salt and pepper.

Herbs de Provence- usually mix with savory, rosemary, thyme, marjoram, oregano and basil. The freshness flavour just like the Mediterranean weather. Match with olive oil, white meats and vegetables make uncountable delicious dishes.

  3. lolll Hey Mia! I'm actually from Canada (jook-sing)! & I am Chinese (cantonese as u can see loll) I moved to the US in the middle of nowhere with my husband because he has school!! and honestly i'm so happy i came across your blog because there is NO CHINESE food here! no authentic kind anyway...i mean chinese food was never my favourite but i admit i really miss it a lot now lollll ...
    I think its SO COOL u can speak Chinese and DEUTSCH?! !! wahhhh...!!! i hope we can keep in touch! i have no chinese friends over here..actually i think im the only chinese person here LOL !

  4. Hi jook sing Muslimah. Really nice to meet you here, I've been living in the state before (for few mths), but only stayed in big cities, Hawaii, San Fran, NY ... the Chinese food in the state are really high standard. But I remember when my friends visited me from Minnesota and Massachusetts, they shopped in China Town seriously because their town don't have such things.

    Yes, I studied Deutsch for 2 years, but now almost forget all. I also lived in Germany for few months to test what I have learn. It was a great experience.
