Strawberry Yogurt, Banana Chocolate Yogurt 士多啤梨乳酪, 香蕉朱古力乳酪

Strawberry Yogurt
Ingredients for 2 servings 
  • 1 cup natural yoghurt 
  • 100g strawberries, cut into small pieces
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
Preparation 
  • In a small pan, add 2/3 strawberries and sugar, cook in low heat until the strawberries soft and melt
  • Turn off the heat and cool down the sauce.
  • Fill the yogurt into a small glass, then pour the strawberry sauce on top and decorate with entire strawberries.
Banana Chocolate Yogurt
Ingredients for 2 servings 
  • 1 cup natural yoghurt 
  • 1 banana, cut into small pieces 
  • 50g 70% cocoa dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons full milk
Preparation 
  • In a small pan, add milk and melt the chocolate in low heat, you may add additional sugar if desired.
  • Turn off the heat and cool down the sauce.
  • Fill the yogurt into a small glass, then pour the chocolate sauce on top and add bananas

There are many kinds of yogurt in supermarket. I like to choose yogurt with acidophilus or active live cultures. Apart from they are more suitable for homemade yoghurt. The live bacteria can benefit your colon condition and immune system.

Pork Chops in Strawberry Sauce 士多啤梨肉排


Pork Chops in Strawberry Sauce
Ingredients for 2 servings 
  • 200g pork chops, cut into small pieces
  • Seasoning, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch, a pinch of salt
  • 150g strawberries, cut into small pieces 
  • 1 tablespoon water 
  • 1 teaspoon sugar  
Preparation 
  • Prepare a small bowl, marinade the pork with soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch and salt, then leave around 30 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the pork chops, stir fry until golden brown and done.
  • In another small pan, add 2/3 strawberries and water, cook until the strawberries are soft and melt.
  • Add sugar and the remaining strawberries, mix well and turn off the heat.
  • For serving, pour the strawberry sauce all over the pork chops. The fruity sweet and sour sauce matches freshly fried pork chops beautifully.

Red Bean Soup 紅豆沙

Red Bean Soup
Ingredients for 4 servings
  • 1 cup red beans
  • 120g rock sugars
  • 4 cups of water
Preparation
  • Wash the red beans, and soak it in the water overnight.
  • Drain the beans before cooking.
  • In a big pot, cook the beans and water until boiling.
  • Reduce the heat, cook the soup until the beans are soft and creamy, stirring occasionally. (around 1 hours)
  • Add the sugar and continue to cook. (around 15 minutes)
Mini Tips:  In Hong Kong, we usually add dried mandarin peels for favouring. If it is hard for you to find, adding fresh orange peels before serving also provide a very fresh taste.


Sweet soups are chinese desserts, we always eat it after dinner.

Ginger Honey 薑蜜

Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon organic honey 
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, peeled, grated
I like to drink it with warm water. Drinking with flower tea or green tea also give you different aroma tastes. A very good remedy for the dry weather. If you have sore throat, drink more ginger honey.

Congee 粥

Ingredient for 2 servings
  • Rice seasoning
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sunflower oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Meat seasoning
  • 200g pork or chicken meat, cut into small pieces
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • For cooking
  • 6 cups of water
Preparation
  • Mix the rice, water, salt and sunflower oil all together, put into a fridge and stay overnight.
  • Season the meat with salt and rice wine, put into a fridge and stay overnight as well. 
  • In a large pot, cook the water and rice until boil.
  • Reduce the heat, cook the rice until it become soft and creamy, stir occasionally. (around 1.5 hrs)
  • Add the meat and continue to cook. (around 15 mins)
  • For serving, season with salt and white pepper. Adding sliced ginger and spring onions are both recommended.
